Our Summer Summary

October 15th, 2019

We have had a very busy year, not only in attending emergency call-outs but also by ensuring the BEEP Fund has a presence at local events in order to raise awareness of our work and also generate interest in our fundraising and volunteering. Here is our summer summary.

We have thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many fantastic people, answering their questions and explaining exactly what we do and the area we cover, over the past few months.

As the birthplace of the BEEP Fund, we feel at home when at the Penrith May Day event. Taking place for three decades now, the town centre comes alive with fantastic family entertainment and a carnival parade. We were one of many charity stalls and had a very positive day in spreading the word about the BEEP Fund and how we benefit the local community.

Attending the Skelton show, the largest village show in the north of England, was a highlight of the year as our stand did attract great interest and new volunteers signed up to join our team.

The Penrith Agricultural Show at Brougham Hall Farm in July features a plethora of competition classes for various farm livestock alongside stalls from local businesses showcasing foods, crafts, workwear, services and charities so we were in very good company.

In August, we attended the Cockermouth Show, along with many others who thoroughly enjoyed the animal displays, learning to shear a sheep, animal rides, machinery displays and dozens of stalls with a variety of crafts and wares.

In Rheged, the Over-50s Show is a relatively new summer show organised by the Cumberland & Westmorland Herald and we were one of the chosen charities to take part alongside companies from the travel, hobbies, food, health, crafts and finance worlds. We met so many lovely people and were delighted to engage with them about our work and dedicated team of volunteers.

If you’d like to know more about the BEEP Fund and how you could help us out, don’t wait to encounter us at our next event, get in touch and you could possibly be part of our team helping to tell others about our life-saving work.
