As we begin a new year, we always look back and analyse the previous twelve months. During 2020 our team of dedicated Doctors attended a total of 203 emergency callouts. These ranged across the width and breadth of our county.
The BEEP Doctors were on hand to assist the paramedics at the scene and offer pre-hospital emergency treatment, where needed.
We can report that 59% of all of these callouts were to road traffic accidents.
The patients’ requirements varied for all of these incidents from being checked at the scene and allowed home to being transported to hospital via air ambulance and sadly, in some cases were pronounced dead at the scene.
As BEEP Doctors strive to attend, assist and care for our Cumbrian residents and visitors we greatly appreciate the support from our volunteers and donors so that we can continue this life saving service.
We also ask, due to the numbers of accidents on the road that we attend, that everyone takes care on the road. Please don’t speed, take risks, drink or take drugs and drive. We see first-hand how these factors can have life changing consequences.
Thank you and stay safe.
